

Eileens Lazy Cabbage Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 Medium-Large Onion, Chopped
- 2 Pounds Ground Beef OR 1/2 Hamburger and 1/2 ground Sausage
- Salt and Pepper to Taste
- Bacon Grease
- 1 (28oz) Can Diced Tomato(herbs & Spice flavor when can)
- 1 Medium Cabbage Head
- 1 and 1/2 Cups of Uncooked White Rice (we use parboiled when we can)
Directions
Cook hamburger along with salt and pepper Set aside and allow to drain. In a large skillet heat bacon grease a bit and then add the onion and let fry for a few minutes. Add shredded cabbage, cover and let steam/cook until cabbage is limp (about 10 minutes). Place the undrained cabbage and onion in a large roaster pan and add the drained beef. Add uncooked rice and mix all that in real good and then add your can of diced tomato; Fill the tomato can with water about 1/2 full (you will have to use your own judgment here) what we do is about 1/2 full and then we start checking it and adding water as needed about 1/2 way through the cooking time. Mix all that around and cover. Place it in preheated 350 oven and bake for about 1 hour-1 and 1/2 hours, till its done.
