KFC Honey BBQ Chicken Strips

Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds Boneless, Skinless Chicken Strips
  • 2 and 3/4 Cup Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh Ground Pepper
  • 1 Cup Buttermilk
  • Vegetable Oil (for deep frying)
  • 1 Cup Hickory Smoke BBQ Sauce
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 3 Tablespoons Honey
  • 2 Tablespoons Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke

Directions

In bowl Mix flour, salt and pepper and set aside and place buttermilk in separate bowl. Heat oil for frying to 375 then dip chicken strips in flour then in buttermilk and then flour again. Place a few strips in hot oil, don't over crowd and fry until lightly golden brown. Remove strips and drain.

Place the BBQ sauce, water, honey, ketchup and liquid smoke in a small sauce pan and mix thoroughly. Simmer on low heat stirring frequently for 20 minutes and let sauce cool slightly. Dip one chicken breast strip in sauce at a time. Place in a baking pan that has been sprayed lightly with a none stick spray and place in a preheated oven at 350 bake for 20 minutes
